Ukrainian Forces Reclaim Significant Territory in Oleksandrivsk

(MENAFN) Ukrainian troops have recaptured 400 square kilometers of land since launching their counteroffensive in the Oleksandrivsk area, according to a senior military officer on Tuesday.

During a briefing of Ukraine's military leadership in Kyiv, Oleksandr Komarenko, head of the General Staff's Main Operational Directorate, announced that "400 square kilometers of territory have been reclaimed from Russia."

He added, "Almost the entire territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region has been liberated. We have three small settlements left to finish and two more to clear."

On the other hand, the Russian Defense Ministry asserted that it had downed a Ukrainian Su-27 fighter jet, destroyed eight precision-guided aviation bombs, intercepted three US-made High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) rockets, and eliminated 241 drones in the past 24 hours.

Due to the ongoing hostilities, independent confirmation of the assertions made by both sides remains difficult.
