UNESCO strengthens inclusive resource centres across Ukraine through local and mobile support
IRCs help children with special educational needs to access quality education, receive comprehensive developmental assessments, benefit from psychosocial support, and access tailored educational services. During the war, their role has become even more important, as constant stress, displacement, traumatic experiences, and disruptions to education create new challenges for children, families, and educators.
With the support of the Government of Japan and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), UNESCO has supported 123 Inclusive Resource Centres across Ukraine. These centres serve more than 920,000 children aged 0–18, of whom over 53,000 have already received comprehensive assessments, accessed services, and been included in inclusive education.
